East Bridgewater, Massachusetts Speed Traps
Belmont Street (Just before Beaver Cemetery)
Cross into East Bridgewater on Belmont Street (heading east) and you’ll see a traffic unit sitting on RIGHT and just around a bend and before Beaver Cemetery which is also on the right side. It’s too late once you hit the curve, so look out! Most snags are on 8-4 shift.
East of W Union St ON West Central
Radar unit sits behind bushes at OLD post office (now a church) on Central Street, just east of West Union, grabbing motorists in this 25 MPH zone from BOTH directions.
Across from Green on Central St.
Traffic unit sits in parking lot of either Bible Church or St. John’s and grabs motorists heading West on Central. MPH zone drops from 35 to 25 at this point when heading WEST on Central. Radar signal picked up just past Mitchell Middle School (on left). Be ready!
Around 418 Thatcher Street
Gated entrance / drive to a landfill on west side of Thatcher Street. Unit sits and grabs motorists heading south (usually) in this area. Non-residential on the side of speed trap, houses on opposite side.
Highland Street ( F-1 back entrance)
Heading west from route 18 on Highland (downhill), East Bridgewater Police sit and wait on right side in a paved driveway (35 MPH zone). This is the back entrance for “F-1 Outdoors” and the gate is usually closed / locked. Plymouth County Sheriff’s SUVs sit here occasionally and await radio calls from Plymouth County B.C.I. believing they can intimidate the naïve public. These deputies do not possess M.G.L CHAPTER 90 motor vehicle powers, and thus cannot initiate traffic stops, so don’t sweat in this case.
