Quincy, Massachusetts Speed Traps
Adams Street near Puritan Drive
They set up on Adams street down near the Adams Mansion and radio speeders to motorcycles that are parked at Puritan Drive. I see them there every month or so. The speed limit is 30 on Adams st but its easy to go faster because of the wide newly paved road. Sometimes they just have a cop using his radar from Puritan. Puritan is just before Furnace Brook Parkway.
Newport Avenue near Oakland Avenue
The limit is 35mph but is two lanes both direction. if u heading down newport ave after the traffic light at beale st., u will see where the cops hide 1/4mile down…
Sea Street
When going north on Sea Street, just after the Dunkin Donuts, there is often a police car hidden on either side of the road in a business or apartment parking lots. They often have radar guns. The speed limit is 30 MPH, but since it is a two lane street, it is often tempting to go faster.
State Route 3A near Field Street
As you travel from Washington Street down Rt 3A (Southern Artery) the boys are set up right after the traffic light at CVS at the entrance of the new Nissan dealership. They pull you into the car lot. The speed limit is 30-35 but Rt 3A has 2 lanes in each direction and is a main thoughfare for hard working southshore folks and you could do 45 mph easy.
Southern Artery Road near Greenleaf Street
Quincy Police will be at the entrance of the Merrymount Cemetery as you travel up Rt 3A from Sea Street toward Furnace Brook Parkway the road inclines a bit and bends to the right with the granite wall providing cover for the cops. The speed limit is 30 mph, but people want to get home so 40 mph is the norm. The cops pull you into the cemetery and write you up right in front of the head stones. Mass–Death-speed tickets and Taxes.
