Exit Number 1st Alma Exit North
State trooper nestles in bushes that surround the first overpass near the first Alma exit (north bound). They also hide in a sloping boulevard in that area. That mainly affects southbound traffic since they’re going uphill.
Superior Street near Alma College
City police frequently are in the Alma College parking lot (near the dorms) at night. Students frequently cross the street there so 25 MPH isn’t unreasonable. Just slow down through there!
Superior Street near Charles Street
City police in the parking lot of the church at the intersection of Superior and Charles Streets. This is a 25MPH zone, but you are coming down a hill so most people will be over the speed limit.
Charles Street near Smith Rd, Alma Container Co Parking Lot
Just north of the railroad where Charles St becomes Smith Rd the city police hide in the parking lot of the Alma Container Company. This is where the speed limit changes from 25 to 45.
Charles Avenue near Iowa Street
Alma Police officers will sit in the Scots Oil Parking lot just past the railroad tracks facing South. They are waiting to nail cars who go faster than the 25 mph speed limit just prior to the railroad tracks. Just after the railroad tracks the speed limit is 45 mph. Alot of people get pulled over here daily and this area is heavily patrolled.
