Battle Creek, Michigan Speed Traps
M-96 in and around Firekeepers Casino
Emmett Township Police will often sit in either the Firekeepers lot, or in the parking lot of the business directly across from the main entrance. Difficult to see at night, very easy to nail people either coming into or leaving from the casino.
Emmett Township and Michigan State Police will also sit in the small lot at the intersection of M-96 and 12 Mile Road.
Michigan Ave across from Lilae Arboretum
They hide next to the business just east of the location.
Riverside Dr between Golden & Beckley
They hide in the church parking lot near Beckley, sit on the side roads off Riverside, and hide in the Riverside Elementary parking lot. The speed limit is 30 but you WILL get pulled over for doing 33+ (it happened to me!). I live in this area and drive Riverside a half dozen times a day. I’ve been pulled over 3- yes THREE- times this year for doing 34 to 39 and ticketed once for 5 mph over!! The cop said that someone who works for the City lives on Riverside and somehow it became a top priority to slow the traffic down on Riverside.
Ave.A just east of the Upton Ave. intersection
Springfield Police will park on the old Upton Ave., just out of the way where you can barely see them.
Raymond Rd. next to the Junk Yard.
There are drives that go into the junk yard that aren’t used anymore and they set back in the drives and you can’t see them until you are right on top of the police. They are generally Emmet Twp. but have seen Calhoun County doing it as well
