Coppers always sit in the Saints Charles and Helena church parking lot behind the sign. Speed goes from 40 mph to 30 mph right in front of the church, so if you don’t slow down, they’ll see you.
Mill Street near State Highway 57
What we have here is nothing but a money making speedtrap. The speed limit is 25 miles per hour. This is a full four lane city street. Any time of the day you can travel this one mile stretch and see a car pulled over. With usually only one cruiser on duty it is not hard to see that the rest of the city has very little police protection. This street is marked Zero Tolerance of the 25 MPH speed limit. The downtown area is marked between 40-30 MPH on M57. Makes sense to me. The Police will argue that downtown is a state hwy and it cannot be marked any lower. I would like to know just how many peoples insurance rates have risen because they drove a few miles per hour over the posted 25MPH and were given points on their driving record. In all my life I have never driven in a town where so many tickets were issued in a one mile stretch. There is a new Wal-Mart outside of town and you do not have to drive Mill street in Clio to get there. Just another reason not to shop in the city of Clio.
m-83 Road near State Highway m-57 vienna rd
Cops sit in the open in businesses between where speed limit goes from 45mph to 35mph to 25mph as you approach traffic signal on m-57 and will write tickets if you are going even 1 mph over posted speed when you reach the speed limit signs. They call it a "zero tolerance" speed zone.
