Cop sits in his Black SUV during daytime hrs. at the entrance to the golf course. He has no mercy..Less than 5 mph over the 45 mph speed limit..he will write a ticket!
West Huron River Drive near Gregory Road
Cruiser tucks itself in a small patch of woods/brush one tenth mile east of Gregory Rd. on south side facing east.
Baker Road near Graveyard
Going down Baker Rd. going Towards downtown Dexter from the highway, there is a church on the left side of the road before the graveyard on your right. Dexter is a small town and only has one local patrol car, but on a few occasions I have seen that single patrol car sitting on the grass in front of that church. The car is impossible to spot coming from Dexter, but the gun is pointed in the opposite direction, so slowing down is not an issue.
The speed limit going towards Dexter starts at 50, then drops to 40 then 30 mph. The speed trap is in the 40mph zone, but is stationed right before the speed limit change.
Baker Road near Dan Hoey Road
Approaching the Village of Dexter from south, speed limit rapidly drops from 50 to 30 MPH. Sheriff’s car sits under trees about 1/4 mi. from Bates Elementary school to catch the unwary. Even on a no school day (weekends, holidays, summer, etc.), this speed trap is heavily run. Watch out, they run Ka radar, fron and rear antennas.
Huron River Drive near Between Zeeb and Mast Roads
Posted speed is 35 MPH – scenic route. With hills and curves, it is easy to exceed the 35 MPH limit. County deputies patrol and get oncoming traffic. It is a high traffic area for bicycles and they have complained – that’s why there is enforcement.
