Frankfort, Michigan Speed Traps
Between the city of Frankfort and the town of Elberta
The speed limit is 40mph but the Frankfort cop will give tickets for as little as 2mph over. He sits down off the road and you will not see him until it’s to late. He likes to work in low light. He loves out of town people.
State Route M-22 near River Road
The Frankfort City police sit on the south side of M-22 between Frankfort and Elberta off in the grass aiming at traffic heading from Frankfort to Elberta just before the intersection of River Road and M-22.
Main Street near 10th Street
The city of Frankfort police sit on the south side of main street between 10th street and M-22. Mostly at night and weekends waiting for the bars to close but I have seen them there during the day.

Rogue cop tailgates motorists around town waiting for them to do something illegal, writing tickets for minor infractions and searching vehicles without reasonable cause. Downtown businesses fed up — city council doesn’t care. Rogue cop recently accused of barging into a private residence with gun drawn at children for no known reason. Accusations of harrassing critics. Business down substantially; downtown drying up; tourists avoiding the town like the plague. Rogue cop still on the payroll.
