Grand Rapids, Michigan Speed Traps

This trap is right under the overpass between the Leonard st exit and Plainfield exit on I-96. They will usually sit under the bridge in the median facing the westbound traffic. Normally will run radar but occasionally will surprise you with Laser. They are here usually in early-afternoon.

Just west of the Fuller exit as you are heading west toward Holland on 96. After going under the overpass, state boys are usually sitting in the lawn to the right (north). This is less than 1/4 mile from where the speed limit drops down to 55 from 70, so they get you when you least expect it….

Between 28th street and 36th on East Paris – Kentwood police train their recruits to nab people here – You have been warned.

MSP sits in the turn-around watching both N & S-bound US-131 in the "turn-around" just North of 5/3 BallPark / West River Dr. There are frequently 2 cruisers watching both directions, mostly during morning & evening rush hour times. They will sometimes use the "turn-around" just south of the BallPark as well.

I am an officer with the MSP. I figured I would give those of you checking this site out a heads up. The reason this is such a hot spot is because of the speeding done in this area. The I-96 & Alpine location recieves the third highest ratings for speeding citations issued since 1998. Just Be Careful !
