Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan Speed Traps
St. Paul Avenue near Bedford Road
Grosse Pointe Park radar car sets up in a residential driveway between Threemile and Bedford getting traffic on St. Paul. You probably have to exceed 35 to get him to come out. Usually there in the afternoon around rush hour.
Mack Avenue near Cadieux Road
When travelling West on Mack Ave. the speed limit changes from 35 to 30 at Cadieux. Cops like to sit in front of the service center at the Bob Maxey dealership with the cars awaiting service. They also like to wait in the restaurant parking lot across the street and at the Verheyden Funeral Home just past Kensington. The prevailing speed of traffic is usually 35-40 mph. It becomes more of a problem in the evening when there are fewer cars on the road.
Mack Avenue near Alter Road
Mack is boundery between Detroit and Grosse Pointe Park. Trap is from Alter to Cadieux Rd. Seem to be racial profiling of drivers. Enforced by Grosse Pointe police only.
Jefferson/Beaconsfield
Cops always sit in the Sunoco Gas station radaring with no lights on at rush hour/night time. Don’t speed!
Intersection of Bedford and Jefferson
if you live in GP you probably already know this, cops sit on either side of Jefferson on Bedford… since there is a light right there they catch lots of people running the red or speeding.
