Muskegon, Michigan Speed Traps
Going north on Seaway just past Sherman exit.
Always here during the afternoon. Officer sits in car on the right hand side just before the Laketon exit off the highway.
Broadway Street near Getty Street
Broadway, just west of Getty. Speed limit is 25. Police will wait in the park on the left, or the service station just up the hill.
US Highway I-96 ends into Business 31 near Exit Number Airline Road onramp to Business 31
This was a now common Michigan speed trap. Headed westbound from I-96 (70MPH) the highway ends into Business 31 (55MPH) while headed west just past a trail tressel bridge and officer was outside of his vehicle (which was hidden just on the side of the bridge) lasering motorist, and just up the road approximatly 1/4 mile were four more patrol cars waiting for vehicle descriptions. This was a State patrol operation
Laketon Avenue near Lakeshore Avenue
Late evening, near 11 pm, a police car is frequently in the parking lot of what used to be called Mike’s Kro. Because of trees/bushes, and the dark, you don’t see them until you’re right on them. Someone is there, at least once a week at this time.
Interstate 96 Westbound near Exit Number 4
Police will inhabit the pull-through connector (turn around) on I-96 west of the Fruitport exit to catch speeders as they come west into the Muskegon area. The lane is wooded and difficult to see a police car as it sits with either radar or laser pointed back down the west-bound lane. I never have seen them check the eastbound side, but they easily could!
