Plymouth, Michigan Speed Traps
Joy Rd. across from Plymouth-Canton High Schools
At the Joy Rd. entrance to the HS, near the tennis courts, there is a stop sign. As you’re driving, it seems to be in an unlikely place and it’s easy to miss. The police know this and sit back in the neighborhood across from the schools, just waiting for you.
Southbound Exit off I-275 to West Ann Arbor Rd.
Not actually a speed trap. Sign coming off freeway says “No right turn on red from 3 pm -6pm” and the cop (often on a motorcycle) sits at first cross street (Terry) and catches people who turn right on red after 3 pm.
Sheldon Road at M-14 / Railroad underpass
Officers sit under the M-14 and railroad overpass watching both Northbound and Southbound lanes of Sheldon Road.
Ann Arbor Road / I275
Plymouth Township Police sit on Tavistock hidden behind the gas pumps at the Shell gas station and ticket people that turn on red off of the northbound exit ramp onto eastbound Ann Arbor Road.
Sheldon Rd between North Territorial and Ann Arbor Road
This stretch of Sheldon Rd passes two schools, and uses the electric speed limit signs to indicate when the 25 mph school zone limit is in effect. The police sit in the church parking lot south of the middle school and collect speeders.
