Troy, Michigan Speed Traps

Heading east bound on Big Beaver. After the I-75 overpass, the squad car will sit right at the driveway on the right to the TGI Fridays and Drury Inn. Often, people will speed up after the I-75 entrance ramps and the police will nail any unsuspecting drivers.

On Maplelawn heading east towards Crooks Road, Troy police set up radar in the last driveway, often laser, aimed at you as you come through a sharp curve. They will have you just as you round the curve. They are hidden behind a line of spaced trees, so you will not see them until you are at that driveway. Maplelawn is lined with new car dealers so most of us that work in the area are aware that at anytime they can be there

They sit in a driveway of the Somerset apartments.

Police radar trap is between Livernois and Rochester going eastbound. Cop will sit in driveway of Apartments. Will stop you even if you are just keeping up with traffic especially if you have a sports car!

Two Motorcycle Officers like to sit in the driveway of the small retention pond just south of the bridge, (south of Hill Dr.) after dark, using a hand held radar gun. You don’t see them until your on top of them. I’ve seen them there numerous times between 10 & 11 P.M. this summer. They’re not limited to the Troy side of the road either. I’ve seen them pull cars over on the Sterling Heights side also.
