Van Buren, Michigan Speed Traps
Interstate 94 near Rawsonville Road
Going west on the South I-94 Service Dr, the speed limit drops from 50 MPH to 35 MPH just before you pass by the K-Mart shopping center. The VBPD traffic unit exploits this speed limit drop to the maximum.
Belleville Road near Interstate 94
The speed limits from I-94 and south on Belleville Rd are very confusing, ranging from 45 MPH to 35 MPH. Signs are poorly placed and the limit stays at 35 MPH for longer that you would think when going north. The VBPD traffic unit heavily exploits this area.
Hannan Road near Wabash Street
VBPD sits near Hannan and Wabash constantly. Heavy enforcement. Watch it here – especially since there is a traffic enforcement unit in VB now.
Belleville Road near Cherry Hill Road
If you are headed South on Belleville Road, you go under the railroad bridge and pass Cherry Hill road (on your left). Approximately 500 feet down on the right hand side of Belleville Road are a few houses then an open field **THEN A FOREST OF PINES**.
Inside that forest of pine trees, there is always a police vehicle sitting there clocking people.
The speed limit is posted closer to Michigan Avenue, and is 55 mph, but drops to 45 mph as you near the intersection for Ecorse Road.
MAJOR speed trap!
