Van Buren, Michigan Speed Traps

Patrol car will sit behind the Water Dept. installation at the NW corner of Beck and Ecorse Roads on the North Service Drive, well hid from view. This makes eastbound traffic on Ecorse Road (Old M-17) a perfect target. The speed limit is 55, but many motorists travel it at 70+ MPH. The most favorable time for this location to be used is after 1400 Hours till sunset, but has been used at all times of the day.

There’s an abandoned driveway in a wooded section on the North side of the road where a police car tucks itself, well hidden from view. You can’t see it until you’re even with it. I use my cruise control there all the time now.

Location is imediately north of Yost side road. Police vehicle is positioned in parking lot on east side of the road, aimed at north-bound traffic. Often there are other vehicles in the lot, making the interceptor difficult to see.

Police cars hidden in heavily wooded area on west side of the road, directly across from a church. Location is about 1/2 mile north of Ecorse Rd.
