White Lake, Michigan Speed Traps
Oxbow Lake Road near Cedar Island Street
This is heading north from coolie lake rd. Its dirt, and it makes an S bend in the road, right after the bend the cops will sit on a side street. On a nice summer day, they will groom the dirt road and its easy to go fast down it. I made the mistake (before my radar detector) and went 42. Got busted…
State Highway 59 near Ormond Road
M-59 east of Ormond Road… police now sit in the median in the grass! It’s very dark in the a.m. w/no street light so you can’t hardly see them. They can also be found sitting just inside the street immediately before the trailer park (Ford Road?) on the south side of M-59 too.
Teggerdine Road near White Lake Road
Teggerdine Rd betw. M-59 & White Lake Rd is rural, wooded, & runs thru state land. White Lake Police tuck-in around a curve, over a hill, or @ the State Park entrance. There’s more. Late one night, someone’screeched’around the corner behind me, & rode my bumper the length of that stretch, as if trying to ‘push me’ to exceed the speed limit-40mph. It was dark, I couldn’t see who it was, & it frightened me. As we approached M-59, I was shocked, to see that the culprit was the White Lake Police. Beware of such low-down tactics.
Oxbow Lake Road near Elizabeth Lake Road
A 25 mph speed limit around Oxbow Community School – perfectly acceptable during school hours, but the limit is in effect 24/7. Police always lay in wait to catch motorists.
State Highway 59 near Teggerdine Road
A marked patrol car often sits toward the back of the gas station(where the car wash used to be) on the corner of teggerdine and M-59. He usually sits back there facing east so he can hurry up and pull out onto M-59 and head either direction. Watch out at month-end when they got those quotas to fill!
