Wixom, Michigan Speed Traps
on Wixom Road south of Pontiac Trail
The officer sits in parking lot of a corner store, Speed limit is posted at 25mph, but nobody drives it.
Maple Rd between Benstein & Ladd
Speed limit drops from 45 to 30 and down to 25mph when school is in session. Cops park on the North side in a business lot and wait for unsuspecting motorists who don’t reduce their speed quickly enough.
I-96 west bound at wixom road
state cop sits on the entrance ramp from wixom road onto westbound I-96 with laser. They routinely work this spot during daytime working hours. This is a brand new "urban crossover" intersection so it is impossible to see the cop from I-96 and even Wixom Road as he sits down the hill from Wixom road. Nice spot for them as they can park sideways on the ramp (you or I would be ticketed for parking here like this) and aim their laser gun without leaving the car.
W. Maple Road @ Maple Forest sub
Officer usually sits opposite the west entrance to the Maple Forest subdivision pointing east on W. Maple Road (though on a few occasions I have seen him on the opposite side). Limit is only 30 mph (though there are few homes on W. Maple). The radar car is there most days, though time of day can vary greatly – mostly during daylight hours.
