Huron River Drive between Forest and LeForge

Ypsilanti, MichiganJun 20, 20100 Comments

I am the original writer of the same titled "speed trap" below. Please note that I erred in the first line by saying "south" of downtown Ypsi. Should have said "north". Please correct this.

Thanks!

Ecorse road east from Ypsilanti

Ypsilanti, MichiganApr 18, 20100 Comments

as you travel ecorse road east, you veer to the left to go to Michigan Avenue, it is curved and you cannot see a police car til you are on it. they sit sometimes in the median, sometimes tucked into the right side. Yes I was caught there. Limit is 55, don’tthink you will get a break. Monitored by Van Buren police.

Huron River Drive between Forest and LeForge

Traveling south from downtown Ypsi on Huron, you will cross Cross St. and then Forest. After Forest, the speed limit is 25 as Huron goes through a long turn to the left. Emerging from the turn, the railroad is on the right and a large old warehouse building on the left. Stay below 30 mph once you’re in the curve to the left!!. Ypsi police sit at three different locations along or past the warehouse building and they will have gotten you on radar before you ever know they’re there. I travel this route several times daily and frequently see cars pulled over.

Golfside Drive near Ellsworth and Packard Road

Golfside Dr. between Packard and Ellsworth — posted speed is unreasonably low (except for the school area), and cops will wait on the Country Club side of the road (east) on a slope, or at the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall.

Hamilton Street near Interstate 94

Ypsilanti, MichiganNov 18, 20050 Comments

Driving on Hamilton, from Michigan Ave. to I-94, there is a parking lot on the left side of the street, obscured by the church itslef. You can’t see him until it’s too late (generally no police on Sundays). The posted speed is 30mph, but the traffic generally goes about 40-45. If you even slightly above traffic flow and it is 40-45, you will be the one who is caught.
