State Route 12 Michigan Ave near Grove Street
Michigan Ave (US-12 Business Route) going Westbound. Between Grove St. (Speedway Gas Station) thru Downtown Ypsilanti. Speed Limit goes from 55 to 30 MPH Really fast less then 2 miles. Police hide on side of buildings and in plain view especially at night when the stores close. Most of the cars are marked "Blank and White" with city logos fully displayed.
Washtenaw Road near Between Summit & Ballard Street
Ypsilanti city police watch Washtenaw rd between Summit & Ballard roads. They hide between the houses and apartments. Speed Limit is 30 MPH. You don’t see them until its too late. Minimum fine is $100.00 + points! Ypsilanti Police drive "Blank and White" police cruisers.
Ellsworth Road near Carpenter Road
Just before Carpenter Rd on Ellsworth Rd is a long drive entrance for Showcase Cinemas Movie Theatre. Between 6:30am and 8am there is often a police cruiser parked in the drive back from the road so that you cannot see him until it’s too late.
East Cross Street near Ypsi High School
Going east or west on East Cross Street between the Water Tower and Ypsi High School. Speed limit goes from 25 to 35 in two blocks, and Ypsi Police are parked behind a wooden fence on the North side of street, in a church parking lot on North side of street, or in the Ypsi High parking lot on South side of street or at corners of any cross streets. Their vehicles have lights inside, not top racks. Heading East its all down hill, and one must be very conscious of slowing from 35 to 25.
The connector between Michigan Ave and I-94 near Willow Run.
When traveling eastbound on I-94 (between Huron Rd and Rawsonville Rd)there is a Willow Run/Michigan Ave exit on the left side of the freeway. When exiting here you will follow the road for approximately 1.5 miles and there will be a split where you can continue onto Michigan Ave or Ecorse road. When you split left onto Michigan Ave you will go around a fairly sharp turn that goes left again and you cant see around the turn due to a bridge there. The police sit on the left shoulder of the road after the turn and by the time you go around the turn and see the police it is too late. Mostly patrolled by Washtenaw County Sheriff and Van Buren Twp.
