Pearl, Mississippi Speed Traps
Magnum Drive just north of Bright Park.
Police sit in the parking lot of Bright Park on Magnum drive and direct the radar north. Across the street from Bright Park is a speed limit sign, the second after entering Pearl city limit, by which time you are to be travelling the speed limit. The police "shoot" you with the radar before this posted speed limit sign north of Bright Park. By Mississippi traffic regulations you are not in violation until you pass this second sign. Your speed is registered BEFORE you reach this sign and this is the speed you are ticketed for.
Appear in court and plead not guilty and the police will at that time offer you an opportunity to plead to "improper equipment" or some other non moving violation so you can avoid trashing your license. It amounts to extortion.
