Fair Grove, Missouri Speed Traps
Fair Grove, located on US 65 north of Springfield MO
City patrol cars sitting on US 65 24 hours a day. Fair Grove has no streets that cross 65. According to the Missouri Attorney General’s Traffic Report (ago.mo.gov) Fair Grove PD stopped 859 motorists for speeding in 2009, 745 of them on US 65. The city recently annexed 2 miles of highway right of way. The speed limit has been lowered from 70 mph to 65 mph along this section. Looks like Fair Grove has found a way to increase their revenue by ticketing travelers. Apparently they have too many officers with nothing to else better to do.
