Grandview, Missouri Speed Traps
Interstate 49 and Red Bridge Road
Southbound traffic takes gentle S curve. Cop with laser sits at south end of curve on west side of road just past overpass. One cop laser targets motorists for pursuit vehicles who merge from on ramp.
15 and E 139th Streets
School zone with poorly placed signs that are easy to miss and multiple officers. Numerous cars stopped Fine for 5-9 mph over limit is $180.
Raytown Road & Martha Truman Road (Longview Lake)
Grandview officers sit on Martha Truman Road to shoot radar on both northbound and southbound on Raytown Road. The speed limit drops dramatically heading south on Raytown Road by the Longview Beach entrance. Watch speed always between Highgrove Road and Longview Road on Raytown Road.
State Highway 71 near 140th Street
The cops sit on the 140th st entrance ramp, and shoot radar onto 71 hwy north. They sit towards the top of the ramp and you cannot see them until you have passed, and by then, it’s too late.
US Highway 71 near 140th Street
When heading southbound on 71 hwy just south of the 140th street interchange, I’ve often seen (several times a week) one or more crusiers laying in wait behind mounding which obscures an on-ramp. You really can’t see the trap until you’re upon it. I typically pass through there in the mid afternoon on weekdays, but I have also seen the trap there in evening rush hour and late morning hours.
