Rolla, Missouri Speed Traps

This is on I-44 as you are leaving the Rolla area. Median is wooded but clears up as you round a large curve, so they can see you well before you can see them. Speed limit is still 60 as the 70 mph signs appear only after all this. Nasty

I-44 WB. Leaving Rolla, in Phelps county, the road flattens out, and you will get popped speeding through there. The county sheriff there loves to stop out-of-state vehicles. You won’t be able to talk your way out of a ticket, no matter what.

The speed drops rapidly as you enter Rolla from the north, from 65 to 30…but really, it stays a speed trap all the way through town on Hwy 63. They keep changing the lanes you need to be in to get through town, too.

Missouri Highway Patrol Troop I is located in Rolla. On top of that, the speed limit goes from 70 to 60 mph within the city limits.

The speed is 60mph in this certain area and is 70mph elsewhere. The area is always covered with lawmen. No breaks given here and god forbid they be doing construction
