Smithville, Missouri Speed Traps

Police sit off the sides of all roads just south of town, including 144th St. and Martin Rd. They are equally bad north of town on 169 highway before you get to W Highway and since they extended the city limit signs, they will sit all the way to the county line (200th St.) You can go 60 after you cross into Clinton County, sometimes the cop will sit in the bank parking lot and catch quite a few speeders that don’t slow down to 45.

They are constantly on this road trying to get people and the way the speed limits chang you better watch them real close,also late at night when people go through they follow them looking for anything to stop them before,I was stopped late at night 4 different times over three years but was never gave a ticket when I asked why I was stopped there response was we think you have been drinking only because it was late at night I haven’t had one drink for over 4 years.
