Urbana, Missouri Speed Traps

This small town is well known for its trap. Urbana is located on Hwy 65 north of Springfield, about 50 miles. The trap is pretty much the entire length of the highway. The speed limit goes from 60 to 35 very quickly and the local sheriff sits just past the lower sign and will nail you – even if you are in the process of reducing your speed.

The town population is about 300, but has two police cars and three officers. Most of their time is spent running radar on vehicles traveling Hwy 65 as they crest hills and enter the city limits.
