Omaha, Nebraska Speed Traps
I-680 North and South Dodge St. to Irvington Exit
I live west of I-680 between Maple and Fort sts. The drone of the State Patrol’s bear in the air is heard for hours on end two to three times a week. Cars and motorcycle patrols on the interstate are pulling cars over left and right. This has gone on for at least ten years.
Pacific Eastbound in the parking lot of Pacific Hills Church
Pacific Hills Lutheran Church is on 90th and Pacific. The police hang out in the west parking lot of that church tagging those driving eastbound on Pacific street.
9416 Pacific St , Pacific Hills Baptist Church
Driving westbound on Pacific the police hang out in the parking lot of Pacific Hills Baptist Church. You are driving up a hill and they stand out in the street and flag speeders in. There are usually several officers flagging people into the parking lot of the church. I got a ticket there and there were two other cars getting tickets by three different officers in that speed trap.
70th and Miliary going west!
The hill on 70th and Military is a very tough one. You can’t see the cops until you’re going down on the hill. The speed limit is 35 but the hill will most likely make you go faster. There are about 8 cops giving tickets to whoever is speeding.
117th & Giles Road ( east bound traffic )
There is a sign for Oriental Trading on the South side of Giles road. The cops will park so that when you are heading east, you can’t see them because the sign hides their vehicles and by the time you go by the sign, it’s too late to slow down.
