lund, Nevada Speed Traps

Not only is this a speed trap, you are profiled and targeted if you have out of state plates. Friends of ours were ticketed and told us as they knew we were traveling through Lund, Nevada. This is the same jurisdiction as Ely, Nevada. We traveled into town slightly below the speed limit and continued through town the same way. We were stopped just before leaving town and just before the speed limit went up. The police car did not put the twinkie lights on, until the police car was directly in front of us coming toward us. It was obvious the policeman wanted to see our plates before stopping us. We were not only not speeding we were going below the speed limit. When we told the officer that he advised he had recorded our speed way ahead claiming that is where he clocked our speed. If this were so what took him so long to put his twinkies on? There was not another car on the road. In our opinion it was because he wanted to see our plates before ticketing us. A speed trap and profiling. It does not get much worse. We will make every effort never to travel in Nevada to leave any of our funds there if that is their method of treating travelers. Our friends have advised they will do the same. Highway 318 through Lund. The speedlimt drops to 25 about a mile out of town and continues about 1 mile on the other side. If school is in session, it drops to 15 for a short distance.
