North Las Vegas, Nevada Speed Traps
Tropical Parkway & Losse
Late Night car sits facing southbound near the intersection it the dark. You can’t see him until you are on top of him. They will wait until you go thru the intersection until they nab ya.
Elkhorn overpass right before Cimmaron
In the side neighborhoods (when going east of Elkhorn) and in the bus stop side area (when going west) it will usually be motorcycle cops, but occasionally a cop car, sitting and waiting for speeders. It’s 35 mph there, but since most people are going downhill or trying to force their car up the overpass they are going faster. It’s right by a middle school, and only a few miles from an elementary school, so they are usually out in the mornings when kids are walking to school, or in the afternoon/evening when kids are walking home.
On Craig Road just West of Simmons
The CNLV Police dept has a station on Craig and Ferrel (just West of Simmons). For whatever reason they LOVE to pull people over right in front of their Police Station. It’s probably some on-going competition to be seen by fellow officers. BE WARNED.
Washburn and Pecos
Long stretch of road next to Shadow Creek, no buildings but the speed limit is only 35. Most travel much faster and the police hang out at the intersection. Do not forget to stop completely at the stop signs.
Co 215 either direction at Aliante Pkwy
NHP setup radar traps in both directions utilizing as many as 6 vehicles at times but the average is 4. No set time of day or day of week.
