Ashland, New Hampshire Speed Traps
Route 3, south of I-93
Police like to sit in some of the business parking lots, especially after business hours, on the left as you head south (with 93 at your back) in the 30 mph zone there. They also park just past Cumberland Farms at the stop sign there to monitor speed and the stop sign for traffic joining Route 3 from 132.
Colony Ln & Patriot Ln
This is a wide-open turnaround – as opposed to the many, many, well-forested hiding places along I-93 (that don’t seem to be taken advantage of) where a trooper chose to sit on, facing northbound traffic, who last saw a 55 mph sign, but may have thought it went back to 65 given that the construction area ended; another one shortly follows, however. Ironically, we were traveling SB, and a trio shot past doing 75+, but the trooper’s focus was only on NB vehicles. Note: signs abound indicating $250-500 fines for speeding in construction areas, but that doesn’t slow down most, who don’t see enforcement.
