Every nook on the parkway at all times got busted for dirty lisence plate.
Palisades Parkway near Exit Number 4
Be particularly careful on the Palisades Parkway, between exits 4 and exit 2, southbound. I rarely see speedtraps northbound, but southbound seems to have quite a few. The speedtrap areas vary, but the police tend to hide in areas where you won’t see them until it’s too late. Sometimes, it’s in a blatant area, such as on the shoulder of the highway, but with the other cars and curve of the highway, you won’t see it until it’s too late.
There is one area, where northbound traffic needs to make a U-turn if they want to exit off exit 3. This seems to be a favorite spot to camp and shoot radar. Again, the location is somewhat general, because the police tend to move around this general area. Slow down to about 55 mph (speed limit is 50) when you pass exit 4 and you shouldn’t have a problem. Sometimes the police hide between exit 1 and exit 2, which is a decent stretch of highway, but it’s less frequent than between exit 2-4.
I travel this road almost daily, and this is all based upon my experience. PIP court sucks
