Belvidere, New Jersey Speed Traps
Riverton-Belvidere bridge (across the Delaware river)
Police will monitor vehicles driving across the river from a guardhouse on the Belvidere side, especially monitoring for, but not isolated to, overweight / oversize limits. Inspection stickers are also inspected. The speed limit over the narrow bridge is also 15 mph; wiki has a photo of an officer (yellow line on pants) monitoring eastbound traffic. Your last hurdle before running the border & leaving NJ.
Rt 46 at Bello Giorno
Heading east past the light at Manuka Chunk Rd there’s a long downward hill. Speed limit is 50 but it’s easy to get going faster than that going downhill. The State Police sit in the parking lot of Bello Giorno Catering at the bottom of the hill. Mostly in the mornings. Just about every day. Sometimes they sit just beyond there in the fishing access parking lot.
Water St.
Coming doen the hill from Rt. 46 the speed limit goes from 40, to 35 to 25 as you round a bend in the road. The police sit across from the Shell Gas Station and nab their victims
Oxford Street near Fifth Street
Belvidere Police like to sit in the school parking lot and catch people as soon as they come into town on C.R. 623 which turns into Oxford St. The speed limit is 45 MPH then drops to 25 MPH as soon as you get to the top of the hill. The police sit at the bottom of the hill where you can’t see them until it’s too late.
