Bloomingdale, New Jersey Speed Traps
Macopin Road
From the intersection of Macopin Road and Hamburg Turnpike, Macopin Road is still in Bloomingdale for a few miles up Macopin. Bloomingdale cops routinely set up one of two types of speed traps. First type is cops at the first bend to catch people coming up from Hamburg Turnpike. The second is on the side of the road between the Macopin/Hamburg Tpk intersection and the first bend on Macopin to catch people coming down Macopin. The speed limit is 35 and the cops are not unrealistically strict but it is easy to do 45+ on Macopin.

Not sure if Radar or Lidar is used. Be careful near Star Lake/Salvation Army or the vitamin store across the street.
Main Street
Late at night you’ll usually find a Bloomingdale officer hiding in the Mobil station parking lot, checking speeds of passersby on Main Street (Hamburg Tpke). The speed limit is somewhere around 30mph I believe, but late at night with no cars around, many people will travel 35-40 mph and the cops can ticket as much as they want.
Union Avenue
Local police sit on Union Ave in Bloomingdale in a few locations. They are often hiding, pulled into the bushes, near the old age home just before the entrance to Morse Lakes, or sometimes on the other side of the Morse Lakes entrance on the little dirt pull-off. Many people are caught speeding here because of dubious speed limits, which (if you follow signs) show a 35 mph limit in one direction and a 40 mph limit in the other. It creates confusion and the officers can bilk people for money VERY easily.
