Drivers usually speed up to 40mph on the bridge, and coast down if there’s a green light, without slowing down. Almost everyday day after school I saw a car pulled over by an Impala undercover cop car.
Roosevelt Avenue near McDonalds/Turnpike
An unmarked patrol or Supervisor’s vehicle will be parked in the CVS or McDonald’s parking lot to observe vehicles making illegal left turns from center lane, u-turns, and running red lights to enter the New Jersey Turnpike. The unmarked patrol car will call out a description and offense to waiting police cars before the toll booth.
Roosevelt Avenue near Bridge
Bridge coming into West Carteret. Unmarked vehicle observes vehicles speeding down bridge on Roosevelt Avenue. Unmarked vehicle calls out description and speed of vehicle. Other marked police cars will be parked on side streets waiting for you to pass to pull you over.
Industrial Road
Marked car sits in right hand shoulder with lights off on a road with no street lights. Speedlimit is 40, but easy to do 60 with out even noticing.
Jackson Ave.
Marked cars sit on the right hand of the road amongst the other parked cars and puck out unexpecting motorists. Speedlimit is 25 but you will get stopped for 28.
