Cedar Grove, New Jersey Speed Traps
rt.23 south coming from little falls into cedar grove
when on 23 south/pompton ave, as you go from little falls into cedar grove and 7 11 is on your left, a cop parks on the right side of the road at night just past the bath place shooting radar
State Highway 23 near bradford Avenue
35mph zone but because the road is wide and faster moving, its easy to be doing 50 without noticing. The cops stay on motorcycles and use hand helds and walk out into the road to pull you over…
State Highway Route 23 near Friar Tuck Inn
All of Route 23 (Pompton Ave)in Cedar Grove is a Speed Trap. Constant speed limit changes from Bradford to Lindsley Ave (Going North) make it easy for cops to give out tickets and they do. Big Time. stay between 30 and 40 to be safe but when by Friat TUck and Foodtown keep watch. They are there and they don’t care.
Ridge Road (between Francisco Ave. and Rt. 23)
Ok, this road is known in my area for speed traps. Cedar Grove cops in general are unrelenting, usually never letting you off a ticket, always pulling over with 2 units, but it gets ridiculous on Ridge Road. I have seen on more than one occasion, a Riding Officer (Motorcycle) hiding in one of the glass bus stop booths peering out with his radar gun. The speed limit is 40, but trust me, keeping it under 50 is pretty hard…at this point, I am just waiting for my ticket…
Rt. 23 (AKA Pompton Ave.)
The whole length of 23 is dangerous (they are famous for DUI stops and racial profiling) but hot spots for cops include the Pilgrim Plaza parking lot opposite The Zone nightclub (especially when it’s closing) and the bottom of the hill heading south where people reach higher speeds. Watch out for the Foodtown lot too.
