Chesterfield, New Jersey Speed Traps
Ward street and Buttonwood street
Police unit parks at the Methodist church viewing down the hill toward Hamilton or across to Crosswicks. This is a very active site approx.2-3 days per week. Cruiser cannot be seen from Ward street. It can be seen coming up the hill from Hamilton toward the Methodist church. Warning…they also have a new Chevy Exp type truck painted black with dark tinted windows.
Ward Avenue near Hog Back Rd. Crossing
Speed traps are set up on Ward Ave in Chesterfield Twp. near the soccer fields. Maybe also on Sat. mornings and other times too. It seems that they are there mainly to catch visitors to the two medium security prisons nearby.
Hog Back Road near Ward Avenue
Speed traps set up in the little tree area between Ward Ave. and the prison entrance on Hog Back road. Every Sunday AM and posssibly other times too. It seems they are mainly to catch visitors to the prison.
State Route 545 near State Route 537
Police park in Eastbound driveway on Rt 545 heading North past the Wawa behind bushes so as to not be seen until you get on top of them. Roadway tends to decline making it easy to pickup speed without realizing it. Police must know this and wait for people to fall prey. I’ve been caught twice and paid much more than $47 which I to would have gladly paid. My advice is to use keep your cruise control set on the speed limit as you pass through this area and beware.
