Deal, New Jersey Speed Traps
Norwood Ave. & Jerome Ave.
Patrol car parked in vacant lot on west side of road will catch southbounders as they come over the railroad bridge from Elberon. Speed limit is only 35. You don’t see him until you reach the top of the bridge. By then it’s too late.
Every where & any where
The whole town of Deal is one big speed trap in the summer more than any time and more than any town. So if you plan on driving through Deal be very carefull…dont even look at the cops wrong…they will pull you over!
Norwood Ave. AKA Highway 71
Called a "highway" so they can appeal to the locals against riding bicycles and motor scooters on this otherwise local main street. Yet if they want it to be a "highway", why is the speed limit set to 35? Hmmmmm… Also, be careful when turning off this high-speed way (also commonly known as a "highway") onto any of the cross streets, and especially Roosevelt Ave. They have the 25MPH signs situated AFTER the speed trap. Also a sure bet is the speedtrap located on ALMYR AVE., which bisects Roosevelt Ave.
