Linden, New Jersey Speed Traps

U.S. #1 is 3 lanes with approx. 1 mile of open highway before the next barrage of traffic lights after leaving the traffic light-per-block just north in Elizabeth. There is a far left gradual left lane merge from 278 a little more than a half mile up. On the right is a hidden street, Willowglade Rd., where police will sit. They also sit back from the road before that location in the long entrance to a small mall. The opposite northbound side also is used by police for the same reason. It’s the only open highway to get past blocking traffic between Linden and Elizabeth.

This is a residential street with a large warehouse that has a lot of truck deliveries. Patrol cars sit near the softball fields on the corner to monitor traffic for speeding. Speed limit is 25.

New camera installations have been setup at times police will be posted in the center of the curb. Sounds like a double whammy. Eat the red light get a ticket sent to your house, speed police will hand you one too. Stay alert.

Speed trap on U.S. Hwy. 1&9 going towards the BJ’s going south. The cop sits right at the entrance to BJ’s. Start slowing down right when you get to the overpass before BJ’s.

Speedtrap is right past the train overpass across from the firehouse on Elizabeth Ave. They sit in Charlie’s Auto Shop parking lot. And you can’t see them until it’s too late.
