Long Hill, New Jersey Speed Traps
Central Middle School, Central Ave&Beech St
Cops wait for their victims at the school’s parking lot. Beware if you coming down the steep Central Ave, 2mph over the limit of 25 and you are booked.
Valley Road near Main Street
Where Valley Road meets Main St. On one side of Valley Road, Main St. is a regular two lane road, on the other side of Valley road it is a short gravel road leading to one or two houses. It is obscured by trees, and the police usually hide on the gravel side.
Long Hill Road near St. Joseph’s Shrine
Police routinely sit up in the parking lot of the Shrine, back in the trees. The speed limit is fair, but the nature of the terrain sometimes makes you wan to test your car’s abilities on the curves. Be careful anyway.
Valley Cty Rt. 512 Road near Gillette School
This particular Road – Valley Road County Route 512, is always under enforcement. The speed also changes from 45 to 35. So you got to watch, especially going from Berkeley Heights towards Long Hill Township / Basking Ridge. To me this township survives on speed ticket revenues.
the whole town
Long Hill is known for their cops. They will pull you over if you are out of town, have a loud car, have a radar detector (they always check serial numbers (or did) to see if they are stolen), or do 2 mph over the speed limit. They are notorious in that township. JUst dont speed in Long Hill…
