From Route 73 to the Cherry Hill border, approximately 1 mile in length, speed limit is 25 mph. Anyone exceeding this by even 1 mph will be ticketed. The police will follow you past the border into Cherry Hill to catch you. The speed limits approaching this 1 mile trap are 35 mph with almost no warning of the speed reduction until it is too late. The police are usually in view because they don’t need to hide. This strip provides Evesham Township with more money from citations than any other road.
State Route 70 & Route 73
Marlton police (marked "Evesham Township") drive white vehicles; Interceptors, Explorers, some lacking top lights, with black stripes on side. Heavily patrol these two roads that both lead from I-295 and the NJ Turnpike. Use dirty tactics like tail gaiting or passing you then pulling you over for matching their speed. Usually like to sit in parking lots along street in spots or along wooded sections of SR 70. This is a moneymaker for the town. Large courtroom usually filled with out of state or minority drivers. Police will also be very aggressive to driving in left lane.
Rt. 73, one mile south of NJ Trnpk. Exit 4 to Voorhees town line.
Regular field day here, a real money making operation. VERY unusual to travel through area without seeing a police car with someone pulled over. Very aggressive enforcement of ALL traffic and motor vehicle equipment laws from speeding to license plate bracket violations.
