Morris Plains, New Jersey Speed Traps
202 North at Route 53
Driving north on Speedwell (202), after you pass under the train, there is a left turn for 53. Opposite that on the right, is a favorite checkpoint where police will wave you to turn right into the station lot. They love that because you can’t see them until you’re right there.
Route 53 (from Route 202 to Route 10)
The po-po like to sit in several spots along this stretch of road. They tend to sit in the Teen Center house, the sports field, the VFW, and even the southern Johnson and Johnson driveway by the unused buildings. More commonly, they hang out in the driveway of the abandoned Christian worship center by the high tension power lines. You often cannot see them until it is too late. Speed limit is 45. Do it!
Granniss Avenue
The boys in blue like to sit along Granniss Avenue, hiding either in Watnong Park, or in the small parking area along Sun Valley Way. During the day you can often sea them, but at night is another story. Speed limit is 25, but I have done 30 here and have not been stopped. Slow down!
