Neptune City, New Jersey Speed Traps
Just as you are coming off the Belmar Bridge going on Hwy. 35 N
They sit at the end of the bridge which slopes down. If you are in the left hand lane you are going towards Neptune City. In the right hand lane you would be entering Bradley Beach. When I got stopped, the car on my right blew past me towards Bradley Beach. If you are going the speed limit (35mph) naturally your speed increases going down towards Neptune City. Now I notice when I do the speed limit or less people are on my tail and pass me on the right. My friend also got stopped here. Last year when I was buying my dog licenses, I heard an officer call in from that location to check insurance on someone he had just stopped. They still sit there. I heard they sit on the other side (Hwy. 35 S) too, which would be going down into Belmar.
Intersection of Memorial Drive & 3rd Avenue
Neptune City police are nowhere near as busy as their Neptune Township counterparts, and sit in the parking lot of Supply King on the southbound side of Memorial Drive. The speed drops from 45 to 40 southbound at the border of Bradley Beach and Neptune City, which happens exactly at the intersection of 3rd & Memorial (Evergreen Ave. on the Bradley side), but remains a 45 on the northbound side heading from Belmar. Either way they’ll get you for 3 miles over the limit, plus they seem to take a perverse pleasure in pulling motorists over on Memorial Drive as opposed to a side street, thus blocking the right lane and creating a serious hazard.
