South Brunswick, New Jersey Speed Traps
New Rd
Between Route 1 and Route 27 you can usually find a speed trap in this 25 MPH zone anytime.
Finnegans Lane near State Highway Route 1
Early in the morning e.g. 5am, just before daybreak, south brunswick cop (same guy. not very nice/professional)sits on west bound side near colony oaks. Wait for people heading to Route One. It’s a 45. He pulled me over doing 50. Thank God for my get out of jail free card. He was not very nice at all. Best thing was. It was raining. At least he got soaked and I didnt. 😉
Promenade Boulevard near State Route 27
Cop sits in center median or turning lane along Promenade Blvd. They trap in both directions, but more commonly they trap speeders traveling toward Rte. 27. During morning rush hour, there may be two cars — one unmarked.
Promenada Blvd Road near State Highway Rt 1
On the section of this road between Rt 1 and Rt 27, the posted limit is 35 (which really should be higher for a county road with no houses directly on it), and the South Brunswick cops monitor this section relentlessly, especially in the AM hours. They work in paired marked cars, with one hiding within the heavily treed areas where it’s too late when you do finally spot them; but lately I have also seen individual cops on foot, hiding in the trees, aiming portable lasar guns at every car that passes by and signaling to a patrol car parked right up ahead if they catch someone, going over the limit, to be pulled over. This latter tactic is alarming as suddenly you come upon a cop in semi-hiding, suddenly aiming what appears to be a gun at you from within the trees, which is not only momentarily jarring to you as a driver, but, as far as I’m concerned, comes close to bordering on harassment. Drive the limit on this road at all times just to be safe.
