West Milford, New Jersey Speed Traps
Route 23 North
WMPD cruiser sitting on shoulder right in front of the Dairy Queen usually in morning hours.
Old Route 23 Northbound
Cruiser parked under trees facing uncoming northbound traffic. Not always there, but will get you when least expected coming around the bend after passing rest area across from Charlotte reservoir.
Slater Rd.
Radar Unit with chase car always parked on Slater Rd. between 1pm and 3pm
State Route 23 Northbound
When coming up State Rte. 23 N after passing the Clinton Rd. intersection you’ll see an Exxon station a little while ahead on the right hand side while the highway has a slight veer to the right. Be careful when coming around this bend because 90% of the time there is a 5-0 sitting on the side of what I believe is an ambulance building. I believe the speed limit there drops to 50 so watch it when you come around the bend after going through the light at the intersection or State Rte. 23 N and Clinton Rd.
Otterhole Rd. (Near “The Orange House”)
They have been sitting directly across from the “Orange House” (if you drive this road you know what I’m saying). Also, at the bottom of that hill, and in the Kampfe Lake (Bloomingdale, NJ) parking area.
They now have “Instant On” so your detector won’t always help.
