West Windsor, New Jersey Speed Traps
Clarksville Road
By the abandoned pharmaceutical plant and open fields, cops sometimes sit on the side of the road by the old entrance gates. They usually mostly use this trap at night, and pick off traffic headed in both directions. There is also an abandoned house by the traffic light at the intersection with Quakerbridge Road, and there is sometimes a cop sitting in the driveway. Slow down before the house because you can’t see anything in the driveway until you’re right in front of it. They usually pick people off heading towards Quakerbridge Rd. This trap (gates and house) are active mostly during the AM rush and late at night.
Clarksville Road
There is usually a police car sitting off to the side of the road by the school bus entrance to the Maurice Hawk Elementary School. This trap is active when students are being dropped off or dismissed. Drive 25 when the lights are flashing because it is frequently enforced. Enforcement is usually more active in the AM than the PM.
US Highway 1 near Scudders Mill Road
Watch out around Scudders Mill Road, on both sides of Route 1. West Windsor Police have just begun enforcing the area. They like to hide their cruisers behind a sign 500 feet before the Scudders Mill Road exit on the Northbound side, and they like to hide their cruisers in the driveway of the New Jersey State Police Princeton headquarters on the Southbound side.
Also watch out around Lowes on Route 1 Northbound, 1 1/2 miles before the intersection on Scudders Mill Road. It is a double-fine zone and West Windsor police also like to hide their cruisers in the Lowe’s entrance driveway. If they catch a speeder they will get into the merging lane to Route 1 and go after them.
