Avon, New York Speed Traps
High Street near Route 5&20 – East Main St.
Traveling West on Rte 5&20 (East Main St), the cop sits in a driveway of a private home on the corner of High St which faces due East, looking up 5&20. It’s downhill there, so very easy to drift quickly above the posted 30mph and don’t think they’ll let you off if you’re even a few mph over.

Interstate 390 near State Routes 5 and 20
when you cross 390 going East from Avon toward Lima on Rt. 5 and 20, the Sheriff’s Dept. sits there with their lights out at the Coyne Farm. The limit over the interchange is 40 MPH and then turns to 55 MPH at the leave the overpass. If you are already picking up speed during the point where it changes from 40 to 55 MPH they will pull you over. It is fairly consistent trap.
Interstate 390 South near Livingston Monroe County Line
driving on 390 south coming from rochester, once you pass into livingston county from monroe slow down. about 1 mile ahead there is an over pass (where they usually sit running radar on the north bound side) and I just saw 2 troopers sitting on the right hand side of the road back from the road. they were using laser and you can’t see them until your within 500 ft of them because of the bend in the road and the trees. They seem to be using it a lot because they had large tire tracks in the grass leading to the highway.
US Highway 20 near State Highway 5
30 mph speed limit. 35 is a fair speed limit
Heading north on rte 15, the first 40 mph. speed limit sign.
Heading north on rte 15, just as you get to the 40 mile per hour sign. You better be going 40 when you hit the first sign!! People think you have to the second sign to slow to 40 but not around Avon!
