Cohocton, New York Speed Traps

Basically, they post a sudden speed change and pretend to have construction. They do not give enough time to slow down.Route 390 from Rochester South is full of traps. These old railroad towns are going broke and speeding tickets are their main source of revenue. Tend to give tickets to out of state drivers !!!!

Cohocton town cop located in the 35 mph section in Atlanta schenks auto repair. cop also seen at cohocton creek public park on the left side of the road when heading towards cohocton, beware of state troops on 390 in cohocton also.

A group of us were headed down to Pennsylvania for the weekend traveling in two cars. Around exit #2 a NY State Trooper in a marked SUV passed our car and pulled over our friends in the car a head of us (I think he was hiding in the median but I can’t say for sure). The driver of our car pulled over behind the State trooper so we could wait for our friends (big mistake) the Trooper came back to our car asked us if we were traveling with the car in front of us our driver said yes at which point he demanded her licence and wrote both drivers tickets for 79 in a 65 Mph zone. This is the second year in a row that we have made this trip and been ticketed on this stretch of road. We also saw a trooper working this section of road as we were headed back north two days later so I suspect this section of road is patrolled rather heavily. They seem to like to tag cars with out of state plates and they seem to be especially active on long weekends
