Franklin Square, New York Speed Traps
Parking lot of water tower directly across from McDonald’s
There is a water tower parking lot directly across from McDonald’s & Dunkin Donuts on Franklin Avenue and police sit there and wait for people to inevitably make an illegal left turn out of the drive-thru of either McDonald’s or Dunkin Donuts. They also catch cars speeding by as well.
Fenworth Boulevard near Rath Park
I have a friend who works outside at rath park, and he’s told me that upwards of 15 people per day are pulled over and ticketed for speeding and mainly for stop sign violations.
I spoke with a friend who is an officer in the area, and he informed me that they’ve been cracking down on fenworth boulevard because it’s been a "problem area" for a long time now.
make sure you come to a FULL STOP at the stop sign in the middle of the crosswalk between the pool and the football field.
Hempstead Turnpike near 7-11, Franklin-Munson Firehouse
There’s a liquor store on Hempstead Turnpike next to 7-11 across from the fire house. There’s often at least one cop in that liquor store parking lot, waiting to pick off anyone driving considerably over the speed limit. they won’t bother you for 5 over, but expect trouble if you’re doing 45+ late at night. the posted speed limit varies from 30-35 in the area.
Franklin Avenue near Galvin Boulevard
In the water works parking lot, there are 2 gates, either usually has an officer sitting radaring passer-byers. Personally I haven’t gotten caught, but they are there at night.
