Hauppauge, New York Speed Traps
Northern State Parkway: Eastbound, (Exit 46: New Highway)
The State Trooper was hidden behind a bunch of trees, I would have slowed down if I had seen him but he was pretty well hidden. He clocked me at 75. I tried talking my way out of it by telling him I was rushing to get to an Exam at Stony Brook University, but it was pretty clear he was a ZERO tolerance kind of guy.
State Highway Expressway Service Road near Long Island Expressway
The speed limit at this section of the Expressway Service Road is posted at 40MPH, instead of 45. When you get off at exit 57, the police are there pulling people over before you get to the light at Vets Hwy, which is a really short distance from the exit ramp. Before you have a chance to slow down, merge, and avoid traffic, and being that the speed limit is not what you’d expect because they reduced the speed limit on this short run, you get pulled over for speeding.
