Katonah, New York Speed Traps
Route 22 (Jay St) near John Jay Homestead
The Bedford police cruisers will park on the John Jay Homestead side of the road (either in a pull in or someone’s driveway) just past the entrance of the homestead while going north (towards route 35, or away from Bedford Village)
Pea Pond Road
Radar Gun while parked in the Caramoor Driveway. Long straight part of the road, tough to go under 30 mph.
State Route 129 near Croton Dam
Rt129 west towards the town of Croton. The road changes from 55mph to 30mph as you enter the town limits. The nice officer sits on either side of the road in a Black & white. To avoid this trap you must immediately decrease to 30mph. Going East on this same road he parks on the downhill slope at the bottom of the hill as you leave the town. Wonder if they ticket locals?
State Route 117 near Harris Road
they hide on the straightaway with laser- i’ve got a valentine one, it didn’t make a sound, and i got a ticket for 47 in a 30.
South Bedford Road near Interstate 684
They sit down in the commuter parking lot as you are going into the town of Katonah from 35. By the time you see them, it will be too late. They like to hide behind parked cars.
