The speed limit is 35. i was given a ticket by a SCPD cope officer for doing 42 in a 35. He said people in the area have made a lot of complaints about this road. Obey the speed limit or be prepared to be hit in the wallet….
Interstate 495 (Exit 70)
Going westbound on LIE right after the sign for exit 70 Manorville. drivers are coming off of a hill & so speeds are up. hides behind bridge, can see you before you see him. usually if you clock higher than 70 they will pull you over. I have seen him multiple times & gotten 1 ticket (years ago). A friend received 2 tix. Still see occasionally, but not every day like in the past.
Median or eastbound side Expressway near Between exits 68 & 69
cop sits at median betwwen exits to monitor rush hour traffic in the am and pm, and to monitor weekend summer traffic.
He writes tickets regardless of where you work or who you know.
State Highway Sunrise near Eastport Manor Road
These suffolk county cops use this spot and hide behind a bush. The cops call it the "burning Bush" because its a hotspot for speeders!
