Montour Falls, New York Speed Traps

As you go into into Montour Falls from the south, taking the right turn at the "RBI" (Rambling Brook Inn), the speed limit drops from 55 to 40 mph. The change in speed is easy to miss, since it doesn’t seem like you’re really going ‘into town’. There are good State Police parking spots on the left like at the Honda dealer, and when you see them, it is already "too late"!

As you traverse south from Watkins Glen, the speed limit drops from 55 to 30 at Aunt Sarah’s Falls, just as you turn left in to Montour Falls. There is a nice State Police parking spot on the left, as you go around the turn, and if you haven’t slowed to a decent speed (say <40 mph) when they come into view, they've got you!
